Saying "I Do!"

It’s been a long journey, from the moment you said “Yes!” until the moment you promised your partner a “Happily Ever After”. But you’ve made it! Now, it’s time to celebrate – and we’re here to make sure that your guests are “wowed” all throughout the reception. Your guests will come in to a beautifully decorated venue, offer their gifts, and share their best wishes.  Some guests heartbreakingly can’t be with you, but the memory of their love guides you along. After mingling with your lovely guests, it’s time to get showered in confetti as you cut the cake in celebration. After everyone’s danced till they dropped, they’ll get ready to head home, with a lovely souvenir as a memento of the day you committed yourself to the love of your life.

Do the bridesmaid's gowns (robes) need to match the colour of their dresses?

No! Although some brides do like to go for a single colour throughout, this is absolutely not necessary. The gowns will be worn while getting ready; they make for lovely photos of the day as the bride’s tribe is unified to support her. However, they are separate to the actual bridesmaids dresses, and can be in any colour you and they would like, without effecting the theme of the wedding itself. Some brides opt for ivory for themselves, and one colour for the rest of the team; but many brides also mix it up and opt for multiple matching colours. Depending on the size of your bridal party, you can consider one colour for the bridesmaids, a different colour for the maid of honour, and a darker colour for the mother of the bride, for example.

When are confetti cannons used?

Confetti cannons can feature three times on your big day. First, give one to a few groomsmen, to pop while you and your lovie come out of the ceremony for the first time as a married couple. The number you’ll need depends on the size of the venue’s façade (e.g. the church entrance). Generally 2-4 cannons are appropriate. Then, create a super special moment by having your bridal party pop the cannons during your first dance – if you have anything else going on (like fireworks), then 2 cannons are fine; otherwise go for 2-4 cannons. Finally, confetti cannons are lots of fun when you cut the cake as this is a moment of jolly celebration. Again, the number of cannons you will need, will depend on the size of venue and number of guests – couples normally opt for 3-6 cannons at this point. While most reception halls allow for any confetti to be used, some churches have been requesting that only biodegradable confetti are used – so please check with your venue to be sure.

How many souvenirs do I need?

We generally advise couples to order souvenirs equivalent to the number of invitations that are sent out + approx. 10%. So, for example, if you’ve sent out 150 invitations (for 300 guests), we’d advise to order (150 + 15) approximately 160 – 170 souvenirs. Keep in mind that people who do not rsvp as attending your wedding, are still likely to give you a gift. Although it is expected that each couple invited, only get one souvenir between the two of them, sometimes they’re tempted to take more, so it’s best to have a few extra. And don’t forget to keep at least one souvenir for yourselves.
